crazy busy

Sorry so long since I blogged. I started a new job :) Gives me more $ to buy stuff for the biz. Hoping to have my wife quit her job & take over production.
Here is a shirt donated to my alma mater for a moms fashion show. Person who won added shirts with pockets & wanted numbers heat pressed.

Friday night

Using the curable reducer

I only used about 5% reducer, should have gone higher for a softer feel.

DXP

So since i started this journey. I kept watching videos and hearing Ryan say that after you expose your screen, you should be able to slightly see your artwork. Using the Ulano product, i never saw that. Now that I am using DXP, I can not only see it, but it washes out easier. Oh happy days!

Now I'm worried

Friday surprise burn on shirt

Sad Story :(

#11 Friday surprise

So #1 one is sold, bring on the masses or at least another beer and chicken wings :) End of the night! One shirt sold, alot of great comments on the design. I was going to use the $ to buy the conveyor dryer :(
I will post the design, pretty basic but it worked, lead singer bought the lot for $150 :(

#10 Friday Surprise

Screaming through the shirts, DONE! 9:15, pizza delivery on the way, 2 shirts burned and I'm spraying cologne and hitting the door to the bar. Haven't eaten for the whole day so a beer hits like a bomb, but its so good when it hits your lips! The bands rockin, the cold ones are goin down smooth, time to sell some shirts and make some money. Never did tell ya it was 30 shirts back and front, turned out awesome. 1st sale of the night coming

#9 Friday Surprise

Why Holy shit? Now we're grooving. The shirts are flying off the press, flash is curing almost faster than i can load a shirt and swipe. its hot in the shop, sweating my ass off, and the wife saying, "hurry up, you're going to burn the shirts"

#8 Friday Surprise

Start printing shirts, slow moving, wife comes down and says " when do you need to be at the bar?" I said no later than 9:30, well its 8:30 and only 1/4 way done with the left chest print. the wife digs in, she temps and removes shirts, i load, swipe and spin. Holy shit!

#7 Friday Surprise

Why did i do this to myself? Screen on, lined up, ink on screen, tested the print on the left chest. Oh i didn't tell ya, 1 front, 1 back shirt. So I'm off, 6 color 2 station press. need to go slow, this is my first job on the new press. Swipe! Spin! now temp gun for cure??? seems like only half of the flash dryer is heating to over 300?? ugh now what

#6 Fridday Surprise

Hit the screen with pressure washer and pray. Bingo perfect wash out, screen to the sun while i get the shirts ready and the flash dryer ready, man i need a conveyor dryer. Grab the screen and liner her up for the job, good to go so far. Its 7:30 stay tuned....

#5 Friday surprise

Fire up the computer, hit the black max print off images. nwo time to burn, have only one full screen available (expousers have been an issue) cant afford to mess up now, time is of the esscense.
line up art work, man i need that template and a light box, start exposing, now off to wash out. man i need a wash out booth.

#4 Friday surprise

Shirts picked up @ 5:15, headed home in rush hour traffic. Home at 6;00, fix dinner, walk the dog, its go time. Next post the adventure begins.

#3 Friday surprise

So the band sends over the very small distorted art work. Open up illustrator and start to manipulate the image's and make shirt designs. now i off to pick up shirts

#2 Friday surprise

Did i forget to mention that it was now 3:10pm and he needed the shirts by 9:00 pm? No art work, no logo nutin'. Jump online and order shirts, 2 hr wait for customer pickups. Start working on artwork.....

#1 Last minute order

So i get a call from a friend of mine on Friday wanting to know if i can produce some shirts for his band? Whats the catch, he needed them for that night, and needed me to come to the bar and sell them for him. Bonus, i would keep all the cash and if none sold, he would cover my costs. to be continued

Moved Shop

Latest Update video! Moved the shop from the garage to the basement, much cooler :)

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Ok, so vid one took awhile to load :) I found that I had to move the progression button back and forth in order for the vid to play?? Here's the second one.
